Association of Macedonians and Refugee Children ’s Associations in Aegean Macedonia – MACEDONIA strongly condemns vandalism by a hitherto unknown perpetrator or perpetrators for the brutal violation of the marble plaque of the Refugee Children‘ s Monument in Bochin city area of Skopje! Their announcement reads:
„The Association of Macedonians and Children Refugees from Aegean Macedonia – MACEDON considers this desecration of the Monument to Children Aegean Macedonia a deliberate intention of anti-Macedonian forces prompted by the Dimitrov-Kodzias Agreement of 17 June 2018 Zoran Zaev’s government renounces Macedonians from Aegean part of Macedonia forcibly persecuted during the Balkan Wars, World War I and Civil War in Greece, as well as the Zaev-Borisov Treaty of August 1, 2017 with government abandoned the Macedonians in Pirin Macedonia!
The Association of Macedonians and Children Refugees from Aegean Macedonia – MACEDON demands that the authorities take all measures to detect the perpetrator or perpetrators and their mentors and inspirers and impose the highest prison sentence for this abominable crime!
ASSOCIATION OF ASSOCIATIONS OF MACEDONIANS AND REFUGEES CHILDREN FROM AEGEAN PART OF MACEDONIA – MACEDONIAN REQUESTS GOVERNMENT TO REBUILD THE DESTROYED MARBLE PLATE OF THE MONUMENT AS IT WAS BEFORE BRUTALLY DESTROYED!
The marble plate was placed on July 19, 2016, on the Day of Saint Sisoe the Great, the Protector of Children, with the following text:
„28,000 children, mostly Macedonians from Aegean Macedonia and elsewhere in Greece, were forcibly exiled during the Greek Civil War from 1946 to 1949 … They remained permanently displaced in Eastern European and transportiert oceanic countries. Far from their hometowns… This Monument is an eternal memorial of the genocide against them, their exodus an Golghota … ”
The text of the marble plaque was written in Macedonian and English language, so that it can be understood by all in Macedonia and by foreign visitors, which is the Memorial of the Refugee Children in the “Woman Fighter” Park!
The marble plaque is a donation of the Association of Macedonians and Children Refugees from Aegean Macedonia – MACEDON, the Association of Setinci, Popadinci and Krushoradci from Lerin in Macedonia and the World Macedonian Congress.
The monument to refugee children, meanwhile, was unveiled on June 30, 1988 in honor of the First World Refugee Children’s Meeting held from June 30 to July 4, 1988 in Skopje.
